Succulents are referred to as drought resistant plants whose stem and leaves are adapted to storing water. Being that succulents are majorly found in arid and semi-arid areas, that one does not mean that they cannot be found in other places as well. Succulents plants can both be grown outdoor and indoor. Below are some of the ways in which one can take care of succulent plants.

You should plant your succulent in a pot that drains. This is because it is not used to surviving in areas with a lot of water. A pot should have some porous holes that are going to drain the excess water from the soil. This a group of plants is used to very high temperatures and little moisture. As a result ,too much water may cause the plant to rot, contract diseases or die if overwatered and you would not like your plant to die. The porous holes are also going to prevent overwatering.

Succulent plants also need to be supplied with enough sunlight. This is because succulents are used to extremely very high temperatures. In places with hot and dry climate with plenty of sunlight succulents does better.This makes it a daily routine to ensure that this plants enough supply of sunlight at least the whole day or half a day. You can see that this plants always go dormant during winter because of insufficient sunlight.

If it is an outdoor succulent plants you should bring them inside during winter. The temperature of the room is always higher than the surrounding temperature during winter.
